Geocachers enjoy different kinds of caches, and favorite caches always depend a bit on who you ask. That's why we've gathered on this page cache recommendations from local event organizers based on their own preferences from the Tampere area cache selection. These are the caches you definitely don't want to miss during your weekend in Tampere!

A proper forest caching adventure deep in nature—far from everything but still reachable without a car—is totally doable in southern Tampere. The Makkarajärvi–Viitastenperä nature reserve offers plenty of lovely forest caches, all within a short walking distance from the Hervantajärvi tram stop (the final stop on line 3). You can even spend the night at the Viitastenperä lean-to shelter or at the Kirskaanniemi lean-to a few kilometers away. From the same tram stop, it’s only 1.8 km “as the crow flies” to the 25-cache “Kello on” trail (for example: https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC89CW8_kello-on-kaksitoista, where you’re guaranteed to get into the spirit of forest geocaching. Don’t forget your rubber boots!
